Sadly I'm trying to return our 3rd E-bike from cyclotrocity the mid drive revolver. The 1st ones were good for the year (purchased around 2003) this one is of poor quality. I'd hoped they would have improved. The bike came with the brakes on the wrong way around, damage to the folks, the rear rings setup so it couldn't reach the top gear, and the motor very quickly twisted free trapping the gear cable and power cable between the frame and motor. The magnet on the wheel hit the rear derailleur when it was in its top gear, possibly why it's set not to reach it! I moved it to the edge but this does create a pendulum effect on the wheel. On using it, the ride is hard, the brakes noisy and not especially effective (although may need bedding in) the chain constantly jumps off the rings front and rear, even after I adjusted the limiters, for the price it seems a cheaper bike. On a positive the motor is fairly powerful and quiet, but I think the chain and mech let it down as this runs through it. The gearing is too low, you soon run out going down hills. The company do respond quick to emails/calls, and are polite and clearly try and help. On sending the bike out they sent it out the day after they should, with no email or contact informing me the bike I was waiting for wasn't coming. Just an email would suffice. Same returning, after last week's promise of collection, it was rebooked on Tuesday this week to be collected yesterday. That said the delivery company can't find last week's order . This week's already late again. They explained it must be because of the difficulty the company's having in the current climate! But Tuffnells reviews are not good before that! I'd use a different company I think! I don't like leaving poor reviews, and rarely do but hope the company sit up and correct some minor things such as keeping the customer updated, and some form of quality checking before the bikes leave the shop!
