We,ve had dogs ( mainly rescue ) for many years , and there's no way I would go past , or recommend Glenythan, more highly - Except if we could award more stars - Then we'd give Alistair at least 100 !!
Our rescue dogs have all been a bit older, so they usually approach a trip to the vet with a bit of trepidation - especially first trips -
Instead of hauling them straight on the table on arrival, Alistair firstly, gets on first name terms with the dog, , ushering him/her into the surgery and then sitting down and having a wee chat , and everybody, dog included, is relaxed.
He discusses problems/ symptoms , and solutions, in detail - No hurry .
Also, his support at the end, is second to none.
When it was time recently, to say goodbye to Lui, our 17 year old lurcher, our three other dogs and ourselves were all beside him as he drifted off peacefully,
It seemed , as a pack, they've got a sixth sense , and being together at the end, they could all ( including us ) understand and accept what was happening .
Carry on the good work, Glenythan - including the nice ladies at reception- And sorry Alistair, but you're not allowed to consider retirement any time soon !!!
