My wife requested a telephone appointment with her GP, she recieved one the very same day at 6.45pm, after which the doctor offered to see her immediately despite the late hour. (within 10 mins). What dedicated doctors and great local surgery we have in Glossop.

Diabolical attitude to patients urgent requests. No solution offered just reading from a script and making excuses using gdpr and covid at not dealing with things. I work for nhs myself and frankly GPs should be ashamed to take pay right now as they do nothing for patients care and hide away at home and therefore under trained staff are left to make decisions. No review has been mentioned and medication refused but won't now book a review. Total joke.
Reception staff are actively obstructive. I do blame the lead Doctors, as they are the people that allow reception staff the latitude. The surgery is run for profit only. Patients are a minor consideration. A few of the doctors seem to run a business from the surgery. Pity they don’t concentrate more on patient care.
It takes ages for them to answer the phone and are very abrupt and borderline rude. The doctors though are very good especially Dr Woon and Dr Wilkinson who has been brilliant with my wife
Unlike someone previously stated it is not difficult to see a GP - if it's urgent you will always be able to get an appointment the same day. There is 1 Dr I won't see but all other Dr's, Practice Nurses and HCA's are all pleasant and never make you feel you're wasting their time. I've had a few problems lately that have meant referrals to hospital have been needed and these have been done promptly. I agree you can sometimes wait a few minutes for the phone to be answered but Surgery has 1000's of patients not just 1 and I have always found the receptionists to be polite and helpful
