Covid 19 Support and Help....I think not !! I've been a Halifax customer for over 30yrs and during that time my account has ALWAYS been handled correctly by myself. I even have a Halifax Credit Card (which is close to its limit but is always paid on time via Direct Debit) and I once had a 3.000 loan as well that was paid in full over a year early !! Today I contacted them as funds at home are quite low due to the working environment thanks to Covid 19. As Halifax have made a big publicity splash about how good they are and how they are here to help their customers I asked for a temporary increase on my Over Draft .... \but the computer says NO !!\ They guy I spoke to suggested I went to their debt management team which I took as an insult considering the increase wasn't to be used for a specific purpose but was required, out of a sense of responsibility, as a cushion just in case. I'm left quite offended by them and their failure to act as advertised and quite honestly I would not recommend or believe in them again.
Would give zero stars if I could. I went into this branch on the 15/2 (Friday) just after dinner to ask for some advice off any member of the team or a manager. I could see one member of staff had someone in the booth selling mortgages etc, a manager and 1 cashier on the whole floor! The line was getting longer (10 long) then the manager walked behind one of the cashiers in one window and just stood behind her and then printed something and then stood there. I think almost everyone walked out, staffing issue and obviously training issues.
Didn't listen was told the same thing 5 times by 2 different staff members all i was doing was paying cash into a bank that wasn't mine and then told me I could transfer the money in fully aware of ways to pay money into a bank but when you've been given cash in hand and you need to buy something or pay through a card just didn't seem to listen staff need to listen to customers needs was in a rush and being asked just slowed me down
Popped into the branch to discuss viable mortgage products for my new home and was met with the friendly personalised service I have expected over the past 2 decades with banking with the Halifax. Recommendations and advice on what product to get were based on our circumstances and we were left feeling very satisfied. Spot on for customer service and satisfaction.
