Since the so called covid 19 virus appeared in Ottawa the cemetery has been closed on EVERY SPECIAL OCCASION which is NOT FAIR!!!!!!. the social distancing should not be applied in a cemetery as there is not a lot of people visiting the cemetery, the last time I was there was the weekend after mothers day and there was at least 5 people there tops!. as Catholics we are obliged to go to the cemetery to pray for our faithfully departed and having the cemetery closed on those special occasions is keeping us from our obligation!. I am asking the Archbishop of Ottawa to change that rule ASAP! as this is one of the acts of mercy that our Catholic faith under Our Blessed Lord taught us why are we banned from doing so?

The location and layout is decent but the graveside service is a little weak. Rackety old and rusty machines with lawnmower engines that take 10 times as long to get anything done, and then wait by the graveside till the backyard trailer goes and fills up dirt again to finish the grave covering. This is not acceptable for a place that charges what they charge here - this is a place people are in mourning and do not need this extra stress. I was here for a funeral for a work employee so I am not writing under duress but with something to try to have this improved.
Bought a Double Urn, did not hold entire remains of my Husband, no he wasn't a big man, the same thing will happen when I pass, all pre-arranged and paid, only to have to go and buy another urn, for the remains. All done at Hope, but they didn't know the urn was not big enough for 2 people. REALLY? And I don't mean a little didn't fit in, it was a lot.Not Great customer service!
Helpful, caring and understanding staff in time of great loss Great location and easily accessible
The people who handled my mother's cremation at Hope Cemetery were very professional and sympathetic. I highly recommend them.
Ask for a plot away from the southeast corner, unless you want your departed loved ones embalmed in the 800 litres of home heating oil that W.O. Stinson spilled into the ground below their new propane building.
