What a cool park! We visited in mid-September after the leaves had started changing colors. The prairie and Buffalo River are gorgeous. We did the hiking club trail, which was an easy hike. The trail was mowed grass or dirt the whole way and pretty flat. This park has a couple of historic buildings that are worth checking out. It's also connected to a Scientific and Natural Area.

Wow! Love this State Park! It's very well maintained, very tranquil, beautiful and serene. Been going to this park almost every day for a week. Trails are very nice, easy to hike, lots of wild flowers and butterflies (August) Make sure to bring bug spray!

Quiet, secluded, and beautiful. Buffalo River State Park is a great stop for overnight camping as their reserved tent sites are spacious and each have a picnic table and fire pit. Depending on what site you reserve you may be a bit of a walk from the bathroom, as unfortunately their main bathroom station with the showers was closed and may still be when you plan your trip. Upon arrival there is an unmanned check-in building where you can pay your park fees by QR code or by leaving cash in an envelope and putting it in the drop box. Website says their gate closes at 10pm, however there was no gate closure last night which really helped us as we had to leave bright and early to get back on the road and were fearful of being locked in. Our only regret is that we didn't allot any time for extra exploration of the park- but we'll be back!

I love this place. A beautiful place with a nice 3 mile loop to run on and let nature decompress your mind.

We stopped for a short hike at Buffalo River State Park while passing through the area to stretch our legs. Nice trails and the prairie was very pretty. We didn't stay long because the mosquitoes were pretty bad. Would stop by again in the fall when the bugs aren't so bad. It's worth a stop if in the area.
