The statue is of one of Poland's kings and is situated half way up the stairs to The Royal Cathedral. Our guide just gave us a quick account of this king's life as our main reason for stopping was the Cathedral. Unfortunately the Cathedral was not open for us to visit, and only to see the statue, the church door and bell was a little disappointing. Maybe if we were able to visit the interior if the church, the importance of the statue would have made more sense and I would have rated my visit higher.

Pomnik Bolesława Chrobrego, pierwszego koronowanego władcy Polski. Projektu Marcina Rożka. Wzniesiony w 1925 r. odsłonięty przez prezydenta Stanisława Wojciechowskiego. Został zniszczony przez Niemców w 1939 r. podczas kampanii wrześniowej. Odbudowany ponownie w 1985 r.
