Yikes, black ice on the trail in 2-3 switchbacks as of 2/6/21 - I don't recommend riding when its been snowy. Much better spring and fall - summer can be brutally hot. Otherwise always a great training/technical uphill ride. String together during better weather with Apex and loop back down Heritage Pkwy. Riding up, Intermediate to advanced skills needed with a high level of fitness for the 2500' of climbing over about 3 miles. Riding down from the top of lookout is just intermediate.

Lovely and accessible area. Even on a beautiful Saturday it wasn't crazy busy. We had to turn around before the top because there was still a good amount of snow on the trail. My five year old had a blast the whole time. My 3 year old struggled with the incline and needed some help but loved the jaunt down the mountain.

One of my favorite trails because it is challenging. The views at the bottom aren't great but the view from the top is beautiful. If you go all the way up to Lookout Mountain Nature center even better.

This 2 mile trail leads to Bear Brook trail which goes for ten miles along the side of the mountain. Very little change in altitude, beautiful scenery. The CG Trailhead itself is a bit odd right by the highway.

Nice uphill walk that can be done in two hours of so. Very well marked, wide path. Popular with mountain bikers. The windy saddle parking lot is under construction until June 20th so can't currently see the view at the top.
