Katie has taken photographs for us twice now and both times she captured some phenomenal shots that are real treasures. None of us consider ourselves very photogenic, which is a testament to her talent. Her photo shoots are fun and relaxed, which I'm sure is a major factor in terms of how she gets the great shots.

It is a true feeling of delight when you run across someone who \gets\ you. When you're a parent, that same feeling extends to your kids ... you want other people to see the same miraculous, special person that you see when you look in your childrens' eyes. Enter ... Katie Hedrick. Most of us hope for family portraits that capture the \sparkle\ in our eyes. Katie has an uncanny ability to capture the sparkle, but then she goes a step further and actually captures your soul. Katie first photographed my children - simple, candid shots - when they were 5 and 7. I was amazed at how she captured their personalities without reallly knowing them personally. Katie also did portraits of the kids when they were 8 and 10, and again, the results were stunning ... true keepsakes that I will treasure for a lifetime. Fast forward to this year, and our \kids\ are now 17 and 19. This is a time when they are becoming adults and defining who they will be ... not an easy time to capture who they \are\ in a portrait. Not to worry, as once again, Katie far exceeded my expectations. As I flipped through the family photos we had chosen, I stopped cold at a photo of my two kids together. I actually cried at how beautifully Katie had once again captured exactly who they are. Her work, which was amazing when we first met her 12 years ago, just gets better and better. Our family photo shoot was a great experience, and the portraits are incredible. We were able to view the proofs immediately following our session, and had the prints in just a few short weeks. Fantastic!
