Very nice old church in Gouda.this isn't usually my sort of thing but I really enjoyed this experience. Upon entering you get listening devices that tell you stories of the church and stories the stain glass windows depict
like
he Sint-Janskerk or Grote Kerk in the Dutch city of Gouda is a large Gothic-style cross church. The church is famous mainly for its stained glass windows. it has been placed on the UNESCO list of Dutch monuments and is the longest church building in the Netherlands.
Check out the stained glass windows! An audio guide takes you through the story behind some of these pieces.
The best stain glass you'll see. Incredibly ornate church with a lot of history. Set just behind the town square amongst the winding cobblestone alleys of Gouda. An absolute must to see if in Gouda as is the cheese markets. A breath taking church in a beautiful town.
Couldn’t enter on a Sunday! It’s God’s house and you say you can not enter today, come tomorrow as there is something else inside... ridiculous and shame... there is not any information about this registration on the website sorry! They said “the church is closed for touristic visits today” what does it mean exactly? How can you stop people visiting a church? COVID yes sure I agree you can make people wait to come in and come out. That’s it. Take the names also... but stopping people on the door is not acceptable!
