Just went for a day and it was a pleasant stay here. Rooms were nice and spacious with common outside sitting area. Golf Course green view and stunning weather made our stay heaven. Off season and due to pandemic there were hardly any guest on the resort. Check in and out was too easy and staff was gentle. Private beach access which makes more easier to go on the beach. 10-12 minutes hardly walk to the main street where you will find all the restaurants and shops. 5min walk from Tim Hortons. Spa is open inside on appointments only. Due to pandemic, there was no coffee maker or any kind of stuff in the room not even drinking water, room service not available, breakfast also not available, pool is closed. majority of the restaurants are closed near by due to season off/pandemic. So getting food was quite headache.

stayed there for 1 night. Its a pretty resort well connected to the beach. On a non covid time the resort will have a lot of things to do. but since lockdown the restaurant was closed by 9pm itself. missed it by 15mins. The check in process was easy. the rooms were pretty big and the whole resort is maintained well. The View from the room is good. The service was super quick. Check in process was simple. Definitely staying here again in one of their cottages post covid. Must say it’s pretty expensive with no other amenities. On a normal non covid time the price will be justified. Just not now.
Wonderful staff greet you at this well maintained and clean resort. The pub serves high quality food and during COVID19 restrictions did fast and efficient take out. A short stroll gets you to the beach with Wonderful sunsets. I didn't make it onto the golf course, but those I talked to who did reported it to be enjoyable.
The grounds are lovely. They beach was perfect. The accommodations were wonderful. I enjoyed a wonderful retreat weekend with 30 other women. The staff were courteous, polite, helpful and amazingly caring. What a wonderful stay!!
In the midst of these uncertain times we were nervous about staying in a hotel/resort. However, the staff at Oakwood went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable. We loved how the staff at Dave's Pub were so friendly each time they saw us. Twice for breakfast, once for lunch and twice for dinner. Every time the food was delicious, the service was amazing. There was an error in our billing and it was rectified with apologies right away. We found the staff at the Pro shop & restaurant to be incredibly nice and always asking if everything was okay, if we were having a good time. It was a great weekend. We look forward to future visit when time permits.
Lovely resort with nice attention to detail in their decor. It felt like we were truly away at a lodge. Nice that it's a quick walk to the beach. The food at Dave's was very good. The staff are helpful and upbeat. The pool area was very clean and it was a nice size. Only suggestion would be to drop the need for coins for air hockey and pinball.
This was the first vacation my husband and I took following the gradual lifting of the pandemic restrictions. We were delighted to pull into the Oakwood resort, just an hours drive from Stratford. We enjoyed private access to the beach, a round of golf and yummy food at Dave’s Bar and Grill. Our thanks to the friendly staff who keep the grounds very well maintained , and who respected all physical distancing guidelines! We will be back for sure!
Oakwood Resort is a great family getaway place for people of all ages and people who love to bring their pets with them. They offer great room selection with great views and large beds. Their staff is friendly and attentive to your needs. It's designed with all ages in mind, as the beach is 2 min away walking and sunset views of Lake Huron is simply breathtaking. Grand Bend beach stretches for kilometers and offers great exercise platform for people that like to be active and lots of room for tanning and swimming with kids as the waters are shallow. However keep in mind that the water is cold specially if you aren't planning to stay there during summer season. Oakwood Resort is located on the golf course that offers awesome views from all rooms and people of all ages could play golf together in the mornings. They also have indoor pool that could be accessed at any time and is very useful during rainy days, specially if you have kids that are bored. Food is amazing at the golf course DAVE’S PUB & GRILL that offers awesome patio views.
