Hiked this one in mid December. Beautiful, easy and scenic trail. The snow was fresh when we came which was quite nice but I can see how it might be a little tougher if the snow was packed. The river was completely frozen over when we came which was cool for an out-of-towner like myself. I can only imagine how beautiful it is here in warmer weather.

I researched trails that I could have an easy walk through a snow covered wood. Something that had been on my bucket list to do when making plans for Colorado. The Adam's Falls trail from this East Inlet trailhead fit the bill perfectly. Check the snow conditions before you go, though. The day we went, you did not need snow shoes, but I could see how they would be needed with deep snow on this trail. Conditions were perfect, and the first time we came here we went to the falls. It's a circular loop trail and very easy and short to do. The falls are frozen over, but still really beautiful. The perfect walk/hike to see the lovely wooded trail covered in snow. The second time we came back was two days later. We continued straight on the trail for a longer hike. This was the Lone Pine Lake trail and was 5.5 miles. We decided to do about half of that and made it to an area that overlooked a meadow before turning back. A simply beautiful trail which followed along the frozen and snow covered river. I loved everything about this trail, and want to travel the entire length when I come visit next time.

Snowpacked right now and waterfall is frozen. But you can see the water flowing under the ice. Great easy hike!

This trail offers a very easy and short hike to Adams Falls. Gorgeous scenery and beautiful waterfall crashing down the rocks. The parking lot is located close to Grand Lake to get a good view and feel of the cold water. While we were taking in the views a moose appeared behind us. Made it a memorable experience for the family.
