I had a tune up through Grace Air and Heat on 11/18 and everything had run as it should have prior to the tune up. Afterwards I ran the heater a few days later on 11/23 and noticed a smoky haze in the master bedroom and all the fire alarms in the house went off. I had a gut feeling something was done incorrectly with the tune up so I called a different company, Temp Pro, to come out and take a look at the heating unit. I asked for a senior mechanic. Craig, the call taker, set me up with Emmanuel. Upon inspecting the unit he determined the two wire leads (shown below) failed to be reconnected back to the capacitor and watched as he worked. Thankfully, he was able to replace the motor that went out as a result and he worked very quickly efficiently! I wouldn’t recommend anyone else or any other company for your HVAC needs! Emmanuel was a lifesaver!

Experience seems to be very hit or miss! We had a good initial experience with Emmanuel for diagnosis and the prices are competitive which is why we chose Temp Pro, but then our installation experience was vastly different. The two installers showed up without any protective gear (masks), uniform or vehicle that would indicate they were with Temp Pro. They did not even greet us or introduce themselves. They completed most of the installation except for some missing parts, but left behind a pile of little caps, batteries, and trash in the dirt around our outdoor AC unit that we had to clean up ourselves so our pets wouldn't eat them. After the billing office called and demanded that they be paid immediately that first day (before the job was even finished), I had to call back three different times before someone followed through and helped me schedule the final installation work for the missing pieces we were told about in the initial install. Although most of the employees were pleasant to deal with (Emmanuel and Phillip especially!), the professionalism was poor and seemed to get worse at each step of the process. Would not use again nor recommend to others. EDIT: Updating my review to say that a week after final install, we found a leak in our ceiling from the brand new installed unit. Also another pile of screws, tubing, and trash left by the installers in our attic. EDIT: Emmanuel was able to come out, fix the leak, and clean up the garbage left behind by previous installers. I appreciate his work and professionalism - I would hope that they work on some better QC and training so that every experience is as easy as working directly with him!
I could give zero stars I would. This is literally the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my life. One of our downstairs units stopped cooling on 5/20. We filed a home warranty claim and Temp pro sent a mechanic out on 5/22. That mechanic said we needed a new motor and he would get ordered. 5/27 we had still heard nothing, as the temps continue to get warmer. We called and the scheduled a new appointment for 5/29. Had we not followed up, they would’ve never done so themselves while we sit with a hot house. It gets worse. A different guy shows up the morning of 5/29 to replace the motor. He then tells us that the other gut didn’t mention he needed some bracket. So he leaves and returns several hours later. The guy then comes down and says now a circuit board isn’t working and he will have to order, no idea how long that will take and he leaves. An hour later we go upstairs to find that it is HOT and the thermostat is completely off. Come to find out this guy replaced the motor that was working for our upstairs unit and in the process blew the circuit. So now we have TWO broken units. This company does not seem to care at all and shows no sorrow or sense of urgency. They told us someone would be there at 6pm last night to fix. Then they called and said it would be today at 8am. We were not home so had my sister leave her house at 6:30am to be at our house at 8. Nobody showed. We called at 9am, after being put on hold for 10 minutes we were told that someone would be at our house at 10. 15 minutes later we get a text that Mondo, the tech who screwed it all up, was on his way. The owner of the company told our warranty compost last night that he would be sending his “best guy” to fix this. Yet they just dispatch the same dude who broke it??? Clearly this company does not care. Customer service means nothing to them and they appear in o have no clue what they are doing. Spare yourself the headache and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
OneGuard assigned this contractor to check on my AC back in May. The technician was very good and explained to me clearly that the air handler needed to be replaced. After that, there was neither communication (besides I had to call in) nor update until October. The October update was they needed to do a cash out since the manufacturer no longer makes the unit. I called Temp Pro on 10.14 @ 4:26 PM CST asking for more details on their justifications. They showed no attempt to come up with a comparable replacement or solution to fix the issue. I feel like I am being scammed by both OneGuard and Temp Pro. The case is on going with One Guard since they offer a very low cash out option without proper justifications or comparable quotes. However, I am very disappointed at Temp Pro for handling this work order. After talking to me for 10 minutes, the rep suddenly wanted to transfer me and dropped the call. Is that how you guys solve the problem?
Two visits through One Guard Home Warranty. Worst experience ever.. Two weeks, two calls and two totally different stories. High pressure to do major work and to go through them or would take weeks otherwise if use warranty Replaced capacitor first time then said ...oops was the coil. Left bolts out of unit in attic and cover off ground unit leaving wires and equipment exposed. Very aggressive service person. Hired someone outside warranty and they were appalled
