Amazing products, friendly/attentive staff and just overall, a wonderful atmosphere. As a caucasian mother with a daughter that has been blessed with a voluminous, beautiful Afro, (with a sensitive scalp), I lacked the knowledge and experience on how to handle the hair. Upon discovering Crowned Beauty, they have been my absolute saving grace. With their dedicated attention and expertise, we have been able to tame my daughters hair, just overall making our weekly “hair day” so much easier and much more enjoyable. I’ve referred many friends and family here and all of whom have been beyond impressed. Many thanks to the amazing women that make this store the success that it is. Keep doing what you’re doing, you ladies, (and this salon), are such a blessing! ️

I heard pretty shady things about the place before, but then when a friend went in with a quoted price, she was overcharged by hundreds of dollars. I know this happens to a lot of people, from a lot of places, and each one isn't worth your time. If I go to buy anything, and they quote me a specific price on labor and materials, I expect to get exactly what I pay for. If the price changes for materials, and I've been made to understand the new price, I understand completely and have no problem paying the new price. If the price changes for both the materials and the labor, and I'm only told about the change in price of the materials, I will not pay the extra labor bill at the end. If I go to get work done on my vehicle, and they don't ask me first, and don't make it known what the price will be, there is no absolutely NO way that someone is going to pull the work they've done to my vehicle. To have someone say "We can take forever to pull the extensions from your head if you'd rather" when a dispute about the price arises, is disgusting and disrespectful. In conclusion, to go to this business is a foolish move. I don't review often as I'm a pretty lighthearted guy, and don't really think most mistakes are worth the time and effort, but this time I figured it was worth my time. Overall, I'd give you a 1/10, but since google only goes in increments from 1-5, I guess you get a free 0.5. You're welcome. Oh, if you have any issues with what I'm saying, comment below for a free "go screw yourself." Don't worry, that price won't change. EDIT** I see you took down a few bad reviews. Paying to keep people from seeing your terrible sides eh? Classic.
I’ve been going to Crowned beauty since they opened up at their downtown location and I’m so thankful for their business! It’s such a relief to not have to travel to buy curly hair products and get an expert opinion on my hair care needs. Thank you so much for opening this business we truly needed it!

Horrible experience. Got a quote for extensions to be put on. They said 275 as my total cost. I told them I had short hair and they said I should only need 1 pack of hair. I go in to for my appointment and instantly they say "oh we very rarely only use one pack". I said that's fine.... Thinking the install and hair would be 275 that the extra hair shouldn't be more than an extra 150. That worked on my hair for 6 and a half hours until my scalp was raw and I get to the til to be told I now owe 800 because it took so long and they denied quoting me at 275. They wouldn't honor their word at all and basically gave me a measly 20 percent off. After trying to dispute it I was told that I had two options.. Pay the rest or have the extensions removed. Not about to spend another 6 and a half hours in that chair. I won't be going back and won't be referring anyone there again.
