Fantastic butchers, super quality but the staff are always so kind friendly and welcoming. The only sausages my daughters will eat. X

Visited for the first time on Saturday. (On holiday down the road). Was made to feel so welcome. Cakes freshly made, bread and of course various meats. Really fresh and varied. Service second to none. Managed to get fresh veg, butter and milk too. So have enjoyed making some beautiful food. A butcher's like this is a credit to any town or city.. but for a village... extra special. 2nd visit today. More cakes and more sausages! The sausages are amazing. Chill, leak or traditional. All superb. And the pork pie and quiche.. well.. don't think I've ever had anything as good. Shame only her for a week. Def be back before home.. and will take some treats back with me too. Thank you for you friendly, happy service.

So very disappointed. As i walked into the butchers my first impression was this does not appear clean compared to butchers in Nottingham but the building is dated and nothing appears to have been done since the 1970s. My instinct told me to walk out. But to my peril. The white overalls were gray and shabby that they were wearing. Any way I proceeded to do the following on 12.11.2020 bought 2 fillet steaks 2 lamb steaks 4 sausages and 6 rashes of bacon. The fillet looked as though is had not been aged and possibly dairy rather that beef bull. The fillet after cooking was stringy and tough i like my steaks rare supermarket meat is so much better than what skinners sell. The lamb steaks when i got home were slices of leg with bone in it. The counter assistant kept talking and never once told me a price. My bill was 37.15. For absolutely discussing meat. I do not recommend them in anyway. I will never go to them again. buyer be ware. Over charge for dairy type meat( my opinion as i did not ask but it was tough and stringy) even the worst fillet i have had i never none it to be like that.

I've been using Skinners for the past 30years - the meat is from a relative's farm - excellent standard and always well presented. A full range of cooked meats&pies, raw meat, with bbq & initative ready made dishes too. Also sandwiches freshly made to order, bakery, eggs and a variety of vegetable & sauces.Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff, willing to help whether the purchase be large or small. Skinners respect Social Distancing with signs, hand sanitizers and only 3 people in the shop at once.
