A mix up with the room allocation to start with but it was quickly resolved. The staff were all pleasant enough. The room spacious with a huge bed. Bathroom was ample with a bath, walk in shower and his and hers basins. Tv was a good size and on the wall. A desk/dressing table, ample wardrobe and tea and coffee facilities. It was a busy weekend there as it happened to be murder mystery. We wern't there for that tho. We didn't use the Spa or pool facilities either. Food was good. Dinner was in the deal for 1 night and breakfast both mornings. All really nice. Dinner options were good, 3 courses too. We went out for dinner the 2nd night into Grantham. Found an amazing Italian. Back at the hotel, drink prices were really reasonable, usually they are well overpriced but not here. Be aware that travelling out by taxi they charge a flat rate of 25. Because it's considered a fair way to the nearest town. Grantham and Newark however have plenty to do once there. I would stay here again. I'd make sure I asked for an executive king.

Murder mystery weekend was excellent. Great value for money and everything was really nice. The room was great, the food delicious and the murder mystery was very entertaining. 5/5 Would recomend and stay again.
Awesome weekend. The spa staff were especially nice. Bar food was great.
Lounge dining areas reception staff food all very nice and deserve more than the allocated 3 star rating. Down side room furniture a bit dated and strange loud buzzing in the library. Be extra careful though if visiting as you have to drive across the A1 through cars travelling at 70mph to get there.
The room (501) was horrible, paid extra when booked for an upgrade and that is not what we got, the reception lady queen or queenie was so rude. She really should not be dealing with guests. On a good note the murder mystery night was really good. Not what we expected but it was a good night and laughed lots. Tip...don't be fooled in to upgrading because there is no difference to a standard room to a superior room (in the old part that has not been updated).
A lovely experience at Olde Barn hotel...friendly welcoming staff from reception, the young man in the Gravity restaurant was very helpful 1pm. when I arrived at heath centre at 2.45 another great welcome from a young man (Ididnt get his namd) then my 1 hour massage was so so awesome thank you so much Kimme loved it. Evening meal at 7.30pm I waited 5 minutes before anyone came over to seat me at my table but the waitresses were friendly and attentive throughout my meal thank you Daisy, Lexy and Ellie.
Stayed here many times and always great food and service
We stayed here for two nights with breakfast both days and dinner on the 1st night. We had a wowcher deal and for the price there is nothing you could find wrong with this hotel. It was easy to find. Well located. Quiet. Our room was huge and the bathroom and main bed area was very clean and tidy. But the unused corners could have done with a hoover. Dinner in the restaurant was a day menu, decent choice, mass produced, but will cooked and tasty. Breakfast was a buffet and exactly what you'd expect. We didn't use the gym but from what saw it was small but will equipped. The pool area was pleasant with a 20ish metre pool that was 1.5m deep throughout, spa pool, steam room and sauna. You need a 1 coin for the lockers but hotel guests are provided with towels. The changing rooms are in need of a revamp but clean and do the job. The front area of the hotel is very nicely decorated, modern and stylish. hallways and bedrooms are a bit well worn but nice. The restaurant was quite dated. We didn't use the bar. All the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. We would return.
