I felt daunted at the prospect of arranging a funeral but Paula gave me advice and guided me through everything I needed to do and think about. The arrangements were excellent and all went smoothly, even on a day that gave us adverse weather conditions (thick snow!). The team were highly professional and friendly and kind too. Thank you.

An amazing family business, nothing was too much trouble, every request was met and exceeded. Jo was exceptionally efficient and kept regular contact and gave constant reassurance. Paula continued the contact when Jo wasn't available, and Peter on the day of the funeral was so composed and gentle. Just the right kind of people to carry out this service, a great family with great family values.
A truly remarkable service making a tough time a little easier ! As a family we had requests that were slightly out of the norm the 1st funeral directors that we went to were quite restrictive and wouldn’t allow the family to be involved in the care of our deceased loved one ! However as soon as I telephoned Sharon at Hergest and Cavell I knew I had made the right choice when she seemed as keen as were were to ensure the families wishes were upheld ..... From that phone call to after the funeral the care and compassion given to my family was amazing .... we have relatives that own funeral services in a different area and they were also highly impressed with that care , attention and support received from Hergest and Cavell .... it seems strange to recommend a funeral service as it’s a service none of us want to use however if you do I strongly recommend Hergest and Cavell I for one will never use another
