A lively place close to Greenock West railway station and the local college make this popular and therefore busy. Recently refurbished, the internal layout hasn't changed much, and there's a large outdoor beer garden with a covered smoking shack. Service was swift from the mostly youthful bar staff. Plenty of tables, stools and seats which they don't mind you moving around if there's more than four in your party.

Not a bad steak pie at all. Attended for a wedding reception they did a good job. A choice of steak pie and chips or chicken curry and rice. Both looked good. The steak pie was really tender. The chips were crispy and did the job. The food was served on disposable plates with plastic cutlery but then again it is likely due to having to cater to around 30 people at once. There were only a few staff on so could maybe have done with a couple of extra staff. Also had to keep feeding the jukebox. All meant as honest feedback and not a criticism. That said overall a good job. I would happily pop back in for a meal if I was passing by.

We waited for around an hour for our starters, when they arrived the order was wrong, my wife had to wait another 10 mins for hers, but to be fair, they were lovely. Our main courses did not arrive timeously either. I had steak pie which was rather tough, I should have complained but by this time had lost the will to live. My brother in law had fish and chips, the batter on the fish was saturated with grease. He never ate any of it. My sister in law had mac cheese half of which she left, it was quite greasy on the bottom of the plate. My wife had chilli con carne which she said was lovely. Will not be rushing back. Incidentally, this is the first time I have ever done this, I am not a serial complainer.
