I join the other bad reviews here. They are really bad. We had a car insurance with them. Because it was impossible to important myself Dutch car to France (they required forms that didn’t exist), BNP indicated they could no longer insure the vehicle. That’s fine and I can understand that. They confirmed they would end the insurance and sent the declaration bonus malus. A year later (admittedly, I hadn’t paid close attention), they are still charging for my insurance (mind you, we had insured the other vehicle for four months elsewhere and then sold the car). I asked the bank manager for an explanation. He then wrote that I had misunderstood their prior communication about it and that they could only offer me a different tariff. This was a straight out lie; it took me hours before to get a straight answer, and he thought he could lie his way through by suggesting I hadn’t understood the French (but, of course, I had the communication to prove it). We will now need to seek advice from a lawyer to end the insurance and get reimbursement. So, I strongly suggest to avoid this bank.

Worst experience ever. I have to change the bank because there was no service whatsoever for the client here, they always ask you to wait and wait .... The staffs are incompetent and don’t speak English. What a shame

Can anyone help me out. My money has been Stuck here since two years and even after hundreds of attempts to mail them, they reply too late. Even the app is in French, if I call them they speak French. I have around 800 Euros still Stuck UP there and no one seems to care.

I do not recommend this bank for someone who knows that they will need to close their account and transfer their funds to a foreign bank in the future. I started the process of closing my account over a month ago when I left the country to return home and my account is still open and my money has not been transferred. I have been in contact with the bank several times with no new information or explanation as to why no progress has been made in a month. This is unfortunate as I had a very pleasant experience with this bank up until the point I needed to close my account.

Writing my review in English because I can't accurately express my anger in French. If you're not a French citizen, and especially if you're not an EU citizen, DO NOT try to open an account here (even though this branch specifically is listed on the BNP website as accepting foreigners). I'm living in France for 7-8 months on a contract job and need to open an account to receive my paycheck and do other administrative things. I made an appointment to open an account here, knowing that other Americans with the same job as me have opened accounts here in the past. The conseillère first told me that my attestation de résidence and contrat de bail were not sufficient proof of my lodging, even though others in my foyer have never had issues using those documents to open accounts at BNP. Then, she called a colleague on the phone then said that the real problem was that I'm an American only in France for 7 months, and that it would be too much paperwork for them to open an account for me. I explained that I may renew my contract for a second year, but that wasn't sufficient. She refused me and recommended an online bank (which I'm not even eligible for). Clearly, at this branch of BNP, anything that requires the staff going out of their way for a customer is not worth it. I was visibly upset, and the only reason I'm giving this branch two stars is because the conseillère was kind and seemed to genuinely feel bad for me. Overall, though, this is the kind of behavior you would expect from a small independent bank in a tiny town with very few foreigners. Not the largest branch of a multinational bank in a city filled with international students and businesspeople. If you do come here and are refused an account, make sure you ask for a lettre de refus. They are required to give you one, and you can take it to the Banque de France and they'll find a bank required to open an account for you. I didn't know about this until after I left today and wish I had.

Never open a bank account here! If you want to save your time and money! It spent me over 3 weeks to open a bank account in Feb 2013. It's fine for me. When I left France on Aug 2013, I need to close my bank account. But this bank branch used over 4 weeks for that and add two additional fees for my account. During these 4 weeks, I gave them over 20 calls and over 20 emails. But they didn't give any feedbacks. It's silly and ridiculous. I can not believe this is the customer service of BNP Paribas in France Very be careful about this bank branch. This is my suggestion.

The worst ever bank experience in France (and in world). We have a professional account here for our association. They closed it without giving us any reason on a very short notice. They said us 2 months but blocked all our operations immediately. We were unable to transfer our funds to any other bank in France or in the world. They took more than 3 months to transfer our funds to another bank in France. They closed our account on 24th dec 2015 but still they are taking money from our account (we can still login n see but cannot do anything) leaving it in negative and sending us the letters to pay this amount. They do not reply to mails. Phone is paid and every time they say that the problem will be solved but never solved till now. Be careful about BNP and specially this branch.
