Great Thai, and the Tonkatsu isn't bad either
Every time I go to Grenoble I never miss the chance to have a tasty Thai dinner at Chao Phraya. The dishes are fresh, colorful, tasty and nicely presented. Salmon salad (Lab ba) is very nice. Curry soups are excellent and they can make them with shrimps or tofu if you have dietary restrictions. They come with steamy and fluffy perfect white rice. Delicious! The boeuf au chef is definitely a must have. Crusty and brown outside and juicy inside with sauted vegetables and rice. The service is very friendly and helpful. They are kind and close but not intrusive. The perfect order is 3 dishes for 2 people and share the starter. Salad (7 aprox), soups (13), most main courses (12-16).
I have updated the rating to 5/5. The consistency in the quality of their main dishes is out of this world. The chicken specialties are done perfectly and the salad is impeccable. It is a very healthy choice.
The whole experience was definitely bad, we waited 15 minutes until we decided to tell the staff we are ready to order which the response was 5 more minutes! The food was not very special, average would be doing it justice! The chicken felt old, the dishes themselves were small and not so appetizing. Overall, it was very disappointing! And I walked out feeling hungry! Worst feeling ever.
Great Thai food and solid three course menu offering. Good drink offering. Just wish the spice would have been higher in the dish itself. Will go back for sure on my next business trip to Grenoble.
