George’s teachings helped my guitar playing tremendously in such a short amount of time. Being a beginner, I really improved my feel and understanding of the guitar while working with George. Having only played guitar alone and being nervous with playing around others, working with George has really built up my confidence in my abilities. He also was very flexible with scheduling makeup lessons and coordinating online lessons. Highly recommend!

I had only been playing guitar for less than a year before I began lessons with George, not knowing anything about music theory and good music practices. After a little over a year with George my understanding of music theory and it’s application to the guitar has changed drastically, and I must say that I am quite pleased with the results. Each lesson feels tailor made for what I want to play while also ensuring that I learn the technical facility and theory needed to play well. George not only is an excellent teacher and communicator of music, but he is also a great dude who you will enjoy seeing every lesson. I highly highly recommend taking lessons from George Simon :)

George is a fantastic instructor. I had been playing guitar for nearly 20 years before getting back into a lesson environment. He constantly humbled and challenged me in a positive way. He gives great honest feedback and the amount of resources and knowledge he has right off the top of his head, without consulting a lesson book, is really astounding. He would be a great instructor for any level of player.

George is a great instructor. I was a jazz trombonist for many years, but it had been a long time since I’d played anything. George helped me get reacquainted with music, transcription, theory, and (of course) the guitar.

George knows guitar! And probably equally as important, he is still stoked about guitar and music in general. It's obvious he is still an avid listener. Thats important to me because creativity and learning is a never ending thing which means he isn't done pushing himself either. He took what I told him in the very begging and kept going with it, not forgetting my personal goals. Id say I'm a pretty slow learner at first and George rolled with it. I never felt like he was frustrated or impatient. George is the man.

I was searching for some lessons due to being self taught for the past 25 years. I had hit a plateau where I couldn’t seem to make any progress or movement. I have to admit that I was also fearful of having to start learning some theory. George was fantastic. He was patient and has a great approach at teaching someone like me concepts of theory that I could begin using and applying. He was also very easy to work with scheduling. He is unbelievably good at guitar and super enthusiastic about teaching and sharing his knowledge and passion with you. Thx again George.

George is a master and has a knack for making difficult things easy to understand. In 9 months my playing has improved more than the last 10 years of trying to self-teach. Look no further if you want high quality guitar lessons

George is the guitar instructor at GrooveTree Guitar Lessons SLC. Without a doubt, George is the best music instructor I have ever had. I have studied music at college, had saxophone, guitar and vocal lessons. I know a knowledgeable, skilled music teacher when I see one, and that is George, which is why I am writing such an extensive review. I wasted time and money with other lessons in SLC claiming to be "The best" which is absolute nonsense. George's lessons are 1 on 1 tuition with the right mix of theory, practicality, and just all around having a laugh. George listens, asks questions, and challenges you to improve the skills that you seek, building on them week after week for improvement. He is honest with his thoughts and his own capabilities as an instructor and performer. There are some concepts in music which are hard to understand and digest, however I found George has great patience and an incredible way of explaining concepts in alternate ways to be able to understand and apply them to theory and guitar. I believe in George as not only does he teach, but he is also an amazing performing musician, he truly lives his values in music to the core and you will feel see, and hear the moment you have your first lesson with him. I would say that it is a privilege to have lessons with George, as he has a very busy schedule, and it is clear to see why. Thank you George, I really value the time you gave to me during my time in SLC and am a better guitarist because of you. JP.
