It has been a long time since I had such a wonderful meal. The food was just delightful. Every dish was mouth watering delicious. I was so full that I can't take any dessert. Definitely would be back again.

Surprised on the rating of the place by others - I actually thought the place deserves a higher rating. I cant find fault with the food. Both of us wanted something peranakan and we found this place. The food was amazing - my friend loved the Ayam buah Kluak. I personally loved the eggplant - the sauce went all deep into the eggplant; reminded me how my mother cooks it. The sambal is also not ‘tongue burning’ so i could eat it without issue (I cant take spicy food). I also looooved the chendol. I like shaved ice so them scooping the ice on top of the chendol is simply divine. Service is like how normal Chinese restaurant is - fast and to the point. Nothing special; but the food is very good. Oh and if you see the area: Joo Chiat - this is the type of food one should be eating!

Old school peranakan taste and feel. Always a pleasurable dinner experience.

Wide choice of Peranakan dished. Everything I tried was very nice. However, for such size of dishes it seems quite overpriced. Also, on a weekend evening the waiters are quite kan cheong, which kinda spoils the vibe.

Had dessert only (Cendol and bobo chacha) Cendol is so so, the ingredients felt like frozen food. The Gula melaka is fragrant enough as its redeeming be factor. Bobo chacha is a disappointment. No sagor. The red Ruby and green emerald water chestnuts are full of artificial coloring. The coconut milk bland. Since the ingredients are all added together only upon serving, they are not bringing out the expected flavor.

Restaurant that serves authentic peranakan food. Their nonya mee, udang prawn and hainanese pork chop are highly recommended.

This is a Peranakan restaurant which long history located along Joo Chiat Road. They been in operation since 1953. We frequent the coffeeshop across the street often and always wanted to try this place. Restaurant was pretty spacious. We were quickly ushered to our seats. We made reservation the day before. Service was pretty quick, we were served shortly after we ordered. We ordered a total of 6 dishes. The chap chye, squid and the bak wan kerpiting goreng were the outstanding dishes for me. Food was hearty, somewhat taste like homecooked food.

My elderly aunt ordered a take away meal for 8 with around 8 dishes. The cost—700!! We were uniformly shocked so see how little she got for how much she paid. I feel so bad for her. Daylight robbery.
