Wild Baja! Not crowded nor touristy.

Great views, we saw several pairs of ospreys, on pair had 2-4 chicks in the nest.

Like most of Baja, it's stark, desolate and beautiful. It feels like high desert in the western US but with much more diverse and interesting vegetation. If you catch it after a big rain it will be even better. However, extremely heavy fog is common here, so it's never too dry and brown. Unfortunately, like all of Baja and all of Mexico, there is trash everywhere. It is almost always very windy and litter travels fast. The Mexican cultural attitude toward littering is gross and must change. Throwing trash out the car window and dumping garbage in random places needs to be culturally stigmatized by Mexicans if this problem will ever be solved. Laws are irrelevant because enforcement is impossible. The attitude must change.

Free, with information about certain species posted. I'm sure different times of the year there are more varieties than we saw.

You have to love the desert but this is not the desert that you might think or see on TV. Bleak, a lot of salt, very little vegetation. If you are very, very lucky, you might see one of the endangered antilope. In the nearby sea, go in the Spring to see the whales and their babies. Spectacular and you will never forget it!

Love BAJA just about everything is so awesome. It's a love hate relationship. Can't wait to go but can't wait to get back across the boarder.
