You can't beat Guisborough Priory when it comes to historic remains to visit in the town. Although the Priory dates from the 12th century and has survived to the present, it was Henry VIII that had it dismantled into its present state in the 1530s. The best preserved parts are the front transept that faces south west, and the back that can be entered from Westgate. It really is a lovely place to visit if you like your history.

Such a beautiful place. Very well preserved. Clean and tidy. Free to walk around and view. Pets are allowed on the lead. Amazing place for a picnic on the grass or if you go further in there are benches and tables and bins provided.
Worth a visit if you're in the town, free entry and parking nearby. Certainly a place of interest
