We visited Gunnislake for a short break to walk along the mining trail that runs along the River Tamar. We called in for a meal with our friend and her dog and sat in the snug room at the front of the Inn. Cosy and warm, we enjoyed a pint while we perused the menu and specials boards deciding what we fancy. The ale is well kept and refreshing after a walk. My girlfriend and our friend both had Hunters Chicken, I had the Steak & Ale pie with chips. We even had a pud afterwards too. It was all really really good! We tried another pub the following night (as we didn't fancy the open Mic night) but returned the night after that for dinner again! This my girlfriend had the Lamb Shank, Evie and I revisited the dishes we had the first night, but added a garlic bread and an extra portion of chips for the table (after walking up an appetite lol). The staff here are very welcoming and friendly, this is a very rustic and traditional coaching in. There are not many places like this left as they have all been replaced by yuppy bistros for Gastro Pubs. This is how an Olde English (or in this case Cornish) pub should be!

Great breakfast. Very nice neighborhood with a pub just across the road. The hotel is simple but feels very authentic
Thank You Bob and co for providing a welcome relaxing night away for Pete & myself. Immaculately clean room and bathroom. A lovely evening meal washed down with a few beers in pleasant company. A great nights sleep followed with a good breakfast to set you up for the day. We will without doubt return.
Brilliant pub to visit in the area with great food and lovely staff. There is a wait for the food but once it arrives it is to die for. The staff are so kind and helpful and love a chat. There is also great selections of ales and wines. There is a pub area and a restaurant depending on what you may prefer. It also has six rooms that you can stay in.
We all have different tastes and expectations of decor and surroundings. This place is probably a niche taste in that area. But never will you have a better bit of beef. My son and I are fussy with our food. Loved it here, and popped across the road for a quick chuck at the dartboard. Gunnislake is not a bad place to stop off all told! Top marks
Fantastic old building recently refurbished and clean. Rooms are exceptionally clean. The best bit is the food - cooked by a fully trained chef and wonderfully tasty. You will not be disappointed here.
Stayed here over night for a tour round Cornwall. Lovely people no doubt about it. But hotel needs an update to 21st century, all a bit old and needs renovation. Breakfast was well English, don't expect more than toast and some Marmelade.
For a place that is over 250 year-olds its in pretty good shape! Great food, service and very friendly. Clean room and lovely ensuite bathroom! Although could do with new mattress!
