GIET University, Gunupur was established as a trust “Vidya Bharathi Education Trust” in the year of 1996 in an economically backward and geographically obscured location, Gunupur in Rayagada district, Odisha. The Trust started working in the area of education & literacy, towards the promotion of modern and technical education in India and started Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology (GIET), Gunupur in the year of 1997 with a motto of providing quality technical education in a highly disciplined environment with international standards. GIET Gunupur has attained autonomous status in the year 2016 and in December 2018, GIET Autonomous; added another gleaming feather to its cap with the conferment of the university status through an act of Odisha Legislative Assembly. Now, it is named as Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology University (GIET University), Gunupur.

I came here for admission in b.tech lateral with one of my friend, while travelling from my home town dhanbad,( jharkhand) to GIET i was having many doubts about the place, collage, placement and all, Most of my doubts were cleared by the college faculties but still there was some doubts left in my mind . I was going through a tough decision,........ But when i reach the college the faculty and clg staffs treated me so well my all doubts regarding to my branch (mechanical) and placement were vanished and we took admission with zero doubts. The place is so beautiful Best place for studies with peace and full of greenery Infrastructure is too good My assumption- If you are hard working and good in your academics you i'll definitely got placed in a good company.

Accommodation is quite good One of the best colleges in ODISHA with a autonomous status. Lovely Atmosphere for studying Far from the normal city life
