Not a great mikveh experience at all. In a religious neighbourhood, the mikveh should be more inviting and appealing. Although mikvaot in Israel are generally more basic than those I'm used to in North America, this one is more basic than anything else I've seen here. The Kiryat Motzkin mikveh on Grushkevich is fairly close and much nicer. Positives are: - Convenient, right in the neighbourhood, for anyone who lives in Kiryat Shmuel (which is good, because residents pay for it as part of fees to the local Vaad) - Clean - Friendly, warm balaniot (supervisors) - At least one room has a mikveh right in it, which is lovely Negatives are: - Preparation rooms are very basic - Shower heads don't stay up above your head (meaning they're not really showers, just hoses) - No working plugs, so you can't really take a bath unless you bring something to stop up the drain - Was supposedly renovated a couple of years ago but looks old and uncared-for -- even for Israel - Preparation room doors feel flimsy and don't go all the way to the floor and ceiling, so it's less private than it could/should be
