Love this place. The gardens are lovely and good walks surrounding the castle. Amazing to see the domes of the science centre as you approach the castle. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful place to spend a nice morning or afternoon in the gardens. The day I visit (10/09/20) the Castle and Tea Room are closed. You could only visit the gardens and visitor centre. Some of the gardens are not signposted, the map of the enclosure might be better. The map is a bit basic for such a pretty place.

Beautiful castle and grounds, we visited during covid restrictions so couldn't go inside but hope to rectify this as soon as possible.

Herstmonceux castle makes a lovely couple of hours out. It’s not always possible to take a tour of the inside of the castle but they are occasionally available. Check the website before your visit. There are 7 themed gardens to wander plus woodland with picnic tables. A cafe, information centre and shop are onsite along with plenty of parking.

Herstmonceux Castle is closer to the castle of fairy tales than most I've seen in England. Restored lovingly by doting owners in the last century with gorgeous gardens, surrounding woodland and ancient chestnut trees. Just choose a sunny day and bring a picnic...

Wow, such an amazing location. They don’t sell themselves enough on their website! We were blown away by all the different things to do and see. I would highly recommend!

Beautifully laid out and loads to discover. Favourite was the bonfire, the ancient chestnuts and secret garden, oh and the stunning reflections in the moat!

Only the grounds are open at the moment, but they are beautiful grounds to have a really good stomp around. Definately worth a visit, especially the magical garden in the autumn
