Took family commemorative trip out to see where some family was stationed during the war. Allen was an AMAZING host and showed us around. He was very knowledgeable and we were able to learn a lot from him. Highly recommend this place for a visit.

Great museum to visit. So much work has been put into getting this museum up and running, well done to all the volunteers for their hard work. If you get a chance it's worth talking or listening to Paul and Alan.

Ridgewell Airfield Commemorative Museum is along the A1017, about one mile to the north of Great Yeldham. It is run by enthusiastic volunteers and located in a WW2 vintage building. It is well laid out. For a small museum, there is a lot to see; mainly fragments of aircraft operated from Ridgewell, recovered from crash sites. The stories of the missions and the men who flew and died in them are also described. Both USAAF and RAF were based there. Adjacent to the museum are memorials to the units which flew from Ridgewell. This museum is well worth a visit. The remains of the airfield are located in the farmland to the east of the museum. The location of runways and taxiways can be seen in fieldtracks; and on Google earth.
