Last weekend we booked the “Lichter” boat trip thinking we were going through Speicherstadt which was confirmed by the ticket agent. Upon arrival there was one of the big salon boats waiting which got me thinking. Upon boarding I asked the agt at the door if this boat was making the “Lichter” tour through Speicherstadt. His answer was yes. Well. It didn’t. It was just going though the port. Furthermore, the boat was packed with people. Social distancing which is a thing these days was surely not maintained by this company. More and more people came on board. Eventually people were sitting on the stairs and on the side as there was no more room available. This was not because of the distance between the tables and seats, since they were just all next to each other. Unfortunately there was nowhere to go as the boat was moving directly after a large group of people boarded just before the “late” departure. Was it worth the 20 pp we paid. No. I am pretty sure there are other options available that do go to Speicherstadt. This is just one of the bigger boat tour company’s around Landungsbrucken.

1 hour barge tour in Hamburg harbour was very interesting but you should be able to understand German. The captain gave us many facts about buildings and ships in the harbour. A ticket costs 20 Euro and there is a discount for Hamburg Card holders (4 Euro). English guided tour is only once daily.
We enjoyed the boat tour of the harbor. We took the English tour, and although the boat was full, we all had a seat and were comfortable. It's cool to see the cruise and container ships up close from the water.
Book a cruise in this shop because I had a 25% discount from Booking. The cruise was indeed very interesting, because you pass through the canals of Speicherstadt and then get close to the huge container ships docked in the harbour. We waited for the 12 o' clock tour that was in english, but unfortunately our guide had a terrible way of speaking so we didn't understand a single word of what he said and that's a shame.
Waiter VERY RUDE. We were told to download an app so that we could listen in in English but of course the code was not working. So 20 didn’t understand anything because the whole commentary is in German. Moreover, it’s not possible to pay with a credit card, so drama ensued at the end of the trip when we were going to the ATM and the waiter thought we were making a run with 12 and yelling at us I front of everyone. Not worth your money, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
