Delicious food at great prices. Service was friendly and quick. Best of all, everything looked clean and tidy, which is often an issue at lots of restaurants. I got some kind of shrimp pie and it was delish. The dough was melt in your month …

The Midnight Spectrum Club

Are used to go there a few years ago, and it’s a cheaper version of the Three Brothers diner that is a few blocks over. There is a really good waitstaff, but one day I decided not to go there anymore because there was a waitress being very rude; slamming all the items that she was handling and talking about how much she hated her job. I’ve worked at jobs where I was not treated right, but you still have to be a professional, and use your energy to get a better job, not have a drama in front of people. The food is low quality and it’s one of those things where they don’t change equipment, so a spatula will touch eggs, raw meat and vegetables at the same time. Also they will make sandwiches and cutting boards where raw meat has touched it. I do like the free coffee and it definitely feels very homey. They do have really good hours and good prices for the quality of food. Usually they’re very quick, except on Sundays. One time I waited an hour and a half for my food, but when I was about to walk out the door they just sped through just so I wouldn’t walk out on my meal. Also, their building needs a very serious renovation. The floors are very dirty to a point where they need to remove all the floor tile.

Has to be the best diner in Hamden. Plate of grits and cheese, two eggs, home fries, and rye toast under ten dollars. More importantly it still feels like a diner. Booths filled with residents who walk. Staff who regale you with tales of yesterday.... And those grits... Get the grits.
