Nice little nature park, with inside a busy city. Though many of the trails the day I went were closed due to flooding. It is still a nice place to get exercise and get away from the hustle and bustle. If you're not careful you can get 9 plus miles within the premises. Also on a side note, I would like to know who walked 2 mi or decided to go over a ditch that was 50 ft wide by 20 ft deep the dump tires at the farthest point in the park. That requires more energy than calling the city to pick them up.

This is a beautiful park! The walking trails are spacious and perfect for 2020-21 covid. The nature center is open for viewing beautifully and naturally well kept reptiles, turtles, insects, etc. Public restrooms are available as well. The nature center exhibit even have antiques like a 1800 singer sewing machine. The gem, stone, and pure crystal collection is metaphysical! Super beautiful sight The dog park is next to the canoes and lake. It is huge and seems very clean with dog pickup bags available. Trash cans are placed well along the many trails as well. They offer volunteer applications for rebuilding projects and maintenance etc to help as the ranger sees fit. The weather and rain can bring swampy and unfortunate work to have to rebuild and ask for volunteers in the process. Keep this park clean, happy, and full of beautiful animals and community members

The park was nice with great views! There was a serious lack of information about how the camping in the park worked. For anyone wanting to camp at the park: 1. It is first come first serve but you have to check in at the nature center first. That's means you have to make it there before they close at 4 pm , and they pick your campsite for you. 2. If you end up with Campsite 1 like I did, it is RIGHT next to the trail and you end up like a zoo animal, being observed by all of the other park patrons who are walking, jogging or cycling by on the trail. 3. They lockup the park pretty good after sunset. So having some temporary guests come over to chill around the fire pit with you is not a thing. 4. They have a nice fire pit and some wood was provided and plenty was laying around. (Although pretty damp) 5. No alcohol is allowed and the fires are supposed to be out by 10:30pm.

This is such a fun and beautiful place to go to take photos, go for a walk, or to have a picnic. I’ve been here twice, and there are always tons of staff ready to help. It’s just a really beautiful place to go and I totally recommend it.

Excellent trails and lakes. Nature center with interesting exhibits. Butterfly garden. Playground is nice but a little too shady for us (currently closed). We've been going to this park for many years.
