Local artist cooperative in Hanapepe, many of the artists have original work. A local place worth visiting on Friday art night from 5pm to 9pm. Friday night there is local food, music and art in the street. There is a great mixture or tourist and locals enjoying the music and food. The cooperative has karaoke for kids on Friday night and other events. There is a great garden out back and the artists are very friendly. Is a great opportunity to support the local economy. The cooperative is open mainly when artists themselves volunteer and are able to be there, don’t be too harsh on them if they are not open at the hours posted, some of them travel by bus to get there and sometimes family or other work comes up. How I know so much? I had a good conversation with Amber, one of the local artists that works there and brings her dog (maka) to work with her. Stop by Friday nights and support local shops!

Has been 6 years since I’ve been to Storybook Theatre but I’ve had the pleasure just recently touring Capt. Mark Jeffers around my town of Fremont, Michigan with his “Michigana Trout” along with his assistant “niece” Kendal. Nice to have a small piece of Hawaii come to Fremont. As always, great to see a childhood friend and to hear the wonderful stories of the Hawaiian culture from someone who’s lived in Hawaii for nearly a half century. Sorry Mark we are getting on in age. Aloha brother.

It is a wonderful place to see how loving caring for children can be! It is a non profit organization which does such creative events for children, arts, karaoke and educational games. The garden in the back feels like stepping into a different world full of peace! It is also a co-op of artists and vendors who exhibit beautiful art to affordable prices. I real gem! And the neighbours are Hobbies with Hawaiian food (hulu chicken is soo good) and the organic bakery Midnight Bear where you can delight in artisan bread and delicious Danish and amazing sandwiches, different from the average sandwiches!

I really loved this place when we visited it on a day before Christmas Eve. The owner of this place is really friendly and makes you feel welcome. We had a Santa in the place that kids could meet and take a pic. The Santa was genuinely friendly, very kind with the kids and made our day by getting the kids to talk and take pics with him...all in all a great experience nfoe the kids and the entire family.
