Went to Hand and Stone for the first time recently and my Therapist (Dana) Did an amazing job all the way around. She was respectful, asked questions, listened to my answers and proceeded accordingly. I have to be honest though I was a bit disappointed with the reception area which was noisy/chaotic and where I waited for 15-20 minutes for my appointment. (I arrived 10 minutes early) Not the ideal set up for a massage environment. I am a pretty relaxed person but felt anxious by the time I was called back by Dana. Dana definitely made up for it but it took me a good 30 minutes to relax and enjoy the massage. It would have been nice if there were a quiet/meditative space to go while waiting.

I recently became a member with Hand and Stone Southern Pines and was having trouble with the billing on my account. I called for assistance and was helped by Kasey. She was above excellent in solving the problem. She's the reason I didn't get frustrated with the process and look forward to continuing with Hand and Stone. THANKS KASEY!

Don’t go here, plain and simple. Hand and Stone runs their business like a gym; they try to pressure you into purchasing overpriced memberships instead of building a loyal customer base. After canceling my membership due to an overseas tour, they would not allow me to use the credits on my account that I had accumulated because there is a 90 day use-or-lose policy that they were unwilling to grant an exception for. The place drips with a money-making mentality. If you’re looking for quality, seek out a local spa that will have the customer’s best interest in mind.

Today was a my 40th birthday. My husband got me a 50 minute massage and 50 minute facial. During my massage the gal was preoccupied with her phone that a large portion of my massage was done with one hand. The other hand was either opening a piece of paper or on the phone. She asked what my occupation was then proceeded to tell me her family situation that was extremely inappropriate for the setting we were in. I paid extra for a scalp massage and was disappointed yet again when she only did two or three parts of my head. After the massage I got my facial which was absolutely OUTSTANDING! As I was leaving, the front desk ladies how I like my services. My response was please don’t ask me that! I am not one who complains but shared a bit of my experience. The response I received was “oh I’m sorry, that’s not like her”! Immediately following that comment, they told me the charge for my services. I spent over 250 for my services and was utterly disappointed with how unprofessional the massage therapist was. I do not plan on returning nor have I ever written a review. Unfortunately, writing a review is necessary based on my experience!

This was my first time and I loved the stone message and facial i got. The check in was easy and the best message i have had in a while. The check out was a different story (different womam). I asked about how the membership works and i didn't like how the tone i got and didn't take the time to explain it well and when i asked questions its almost like when you see someone tripping over there words.
