My thumb strength has deteriorated, and swinging a golf club was painful. I was using a brace to make it tolerable but was wondering if I should pursue surgery. One appointment with Dr. P and my concerns were thoroughly addressed. He is professional and knowledgeable. He reviewed my x-rays with me, explaining what I needed to understand. I left with a brace which is far better than the one I was using. Thank you Dr. Pournaras.

I went to Dr. Stephen Pournaras for a 2nd opinion after I broke my elbow. I severely broke bones and needed a bone replaced in my elbow. All of this transpired during Covid Quarantine. I can't say enough about Dr. Pournaras. He was very thorough and has an excellent bedside manner. The staff, surgical center and Dr Pournaras provided exceptional care and eased my fears during a most difficult time. From now on Dr. Pournaras will be our families first choice!

From the first appointment to determine that the growth on my elbow was indeed a fatty cyst and did need to be removed, Dr. Pournaras surgery was expertly completed, the nerve protected and the resulting five inch scar is close to invisible. The entire group was very positive and professional.

Lasting Solutions !! Done right the first time ! Dr. Pournaras FIXED! both of my thumb's - & a torn rotator cuff OVER 8 Years ago. I couldn't be happier. I am amazed every day how, as time passes, how the decision to see him about carpal tunnel pain changed my life. Dr. Pournaras took the time to LISTEN & LEARN ABOUT ME! Every minute I sometimes waited for him was time I appreciated because I knew someone else was getting his FULL ATTENTION - I knew when he came to me - I would get his total attention. Before, During and After each of my surgeries - I KNEW my health and wellness was uppermost to him as much as it was to me. I knew what he suggested was thought out - for me! He only did what was in my best interest, took the time to explain why and how and exactly what my options were. Honestly & sincerely. No professional is successful without experienced and professional staffing. From my first call for an appointment, to every call and appointment thereafter - the entire staff was excellent. A refreshing point .... Dr. Pournaras knew it and never failed to express his appreciation of each and every Team Member to me - and to them - as they assisted in my care. Unfortunately, I moved out of Virginia - I wish I had a way to continue as his patient. With more Osteoarthritis problems cropping up as years pass, I cannot find another doctor who can hold a candle to Dr. P. He's in a special class - not only a FANTASTIC DOCTOR - He's a fantastic person.
