What an amazing place to live! My kids and I love it here! My neighbor mistook my sons crying for something else and alerted the police and they came right over. I let them in just as my sugar cookies were done and they nicely spoke with my son (who's 8) and fixed his bike also leaving us with stickers and badges the next day. I feel amazingly safe living here and appreciate all the officers out there making it safe for my kids and I.

We left our vehicle trunk open by accident after unloading some items over night. We had an officer (we wish we had gotten his name) come and patrol our neighborhood in the early morning and he noticed this. He stopped to make sure everything was okay and to determine if a break in had occurred. We were so impressed by him and his professionalism. He prevented additional items from being taken from our car and being a target for thieves. We are very grateful for the job the Harahan police department do at all hours of the night and day. Thank you for keeping our streets safe. It is this very act that goes unaccounted for from our police that we should be so appreciative of.

I just read that this police department spreads fake news to it's citizens. Department LIED about drugs having Zika only to have to say that it was\FAKE AND A TOTAL LIE\ If a citizen can go to jail for lying to a cop, why is okay for cops to lie to citizens? It isn't. It's dishonesty and LYING to the public with intent to spread disinformation. Don't they have other things to do besides be on social media? Pathetic.

My only experience of this police department was with Seargent Thomas Bronk; the man wrongfully arrested me and lied on the police report... A seemingly common practice done by police officers. I hope the rest of the force doesn't follow his example.
