Said to be built around 800 years ago by the Hoysalas, this symmetrical masterpiece is an epitome of the engineering finesse the Indians possessed centuries ago. This is one among the near perfect world that is beyond the grasp of trigonometry and calculus. 56 pillars are placed in perfect symmetry to support the structure. Each pillar is intricately carved to include a lot of details on it. Even the skirtings and rooftops are full of sculptures.

It's a very old temple with beautiful architecture. Should go and see the columns with nice shape and clean design. You will be amazed to see the columns of the temple. It should have been maintained.

I have visited so many old temples but I feel very special this temple. I feel so calm and peace when I visit this temple. It's in city centre so easy for transport and very well maintained. You can also go to river by walk which backside of temple !!
