The Red Endangered Animal Connection Trust (REACT) is dedicated to connecting people to endangered animals. Our goal is to promote the preservation and conservation of endangered species, and to advance the education of the public in these areas, by providing, arranging and facilitating volunteer-based wildlife and conservation projects. We work on animal welfare and conservation projects, using a sustainable, holistic, and inclusive approach. This means that we work directly and indirectly with local communities, NGOs, Government authorities, companies and specialist groups, as well as animal welfare and conservation projects. We currently work with organisations as diverse as the Woodland Trust, the American Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Animal Projects and Environmental Education, the Orangutan Project, the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, and the Malaysian National Zoo. REACT targets long-term solutions, with an emphasis on education, training, protection, restoration and release. This type of work requires durable funding that allows the implementation of programmes over several months or years. REACT is 100% funded through voluntary income and we therefore rely heavily on the generous contribution of members of the public and organisations to continue our work. In 2009/10, we spent 79.9p in every pound on different ways to help our endangered animal programmes.
