Bus services are a little to be desired. My driver looked like he'd rather be anywhere else,and the man in the little cabin at the bottom of the stand was very rude to say the least... don't bother to ask him for advise...wish I could say positives but I can't I'm afraid

This bus station sadly needs a facelift as it is no longer fit for purpose: queues for buses block the walkway through, there’s insufficient seating and as the station is partially open to the elements the seating there gets wet and cold. It’s a dreadful place to wait for longer than 15 minutes or so and although the newly installed flowers are pretty the station and lack of bus coverage of the area really lets the town down. Far more bus routes need to be opened up in the town to reflect current demographics, which now includes many younger people and families, to serve the many suburbs and to enable people to enjoy the towns wonderful restaurants and help those who work until later in the evening, etc.. Far more frequent and punctual services are actually required at all times this would help to address the pressing issues of traffic congestion and pollution. Tourists could be better catered for too as many local attractions are inaccessible by public transport. The station itself should likewise move with the times and become an inviting, pleasant, efficient central modern transport hub, with shelter from the cold and rain, and even a cafe and little shop (the electric buses are great though). There is a booth in the bus station in which a lovely helpful man sits providing bus related information, he’s dedicated, helpful and very nice.

If people think they have a dreadful bus service and bus station in Harrogate they should visit Birkenhead. Harrogate buses are the best I have ever been on. Spotlessly clean, always on time and the bus drivers are polite and friendly, you should appreciate what you have.
