I adopted Josie, a beautiful and healthy black and white neutered girl (a young adult cat) from the Hart County Humane Society on January 23, 2021. What a joy it is to have been so blessed to cross paths and be able to adopt and be Josie's forever guardian and that she picked us. She is a wonderful and much loved addition to our family. How fortunate we are to live in a rural area that has such a loving and dedicated group of individuals who are willing to give of their time, resources and love in order to help the animals in our area. All are just as much heroes as those who fight and defend our constitution! Safe travels and God Bless those who devote so much of their time energy and love caring for and helping God's creatures both large and small. Shaun

We adopted our two sweet kittens from Hart Co Humane Society. They were fostered by Abigal who did a wonderful job with them. They are very well behaved and sweet boys. The adoption process was very simple.

Truly beautiful souls these wonderful people give so much for our communities animals! You'll be hard pressed to find better folks. I thank God for the Hart Co. Humane Society.

I had an amazing experience adopting two unrelated kitties from Hart County Humane Society in January, 2021. All of the volunteers and staff were friendly and gracious, offering assistance when I needed it and patiently waiting as I took my time making my decisions. At least one person at HCHS (usually several) was knowledgeable about the personality, health and backstory of each of the cats I chose. The kitties who now rule my house, formerly known as Raven and Havana, are healthy, playful, well-socialized animals (and faithfully use their litter boxes). Yes, there were a few delays in initial email and phone contact with the humans at HCHS, but my advice to potential adopters: please recognize that most of the staff ARE VOLUNTEERS. Be patient but persistent, and you’ll be rewarded with a healthy, well-loved animal previously well nurtured by HCHS.

We adopted 2 beautiful kittens from this shelter when they were at PetSmart in Anderson. They were so helpful and informative, and helped us feel like we were making the right choice. Our babies are as happy as can be in their new home, and we are so happy to have them!

Never made it to place. They don't post hours and never answer phone, just goes to full mailbox. Would love to adopt a dog but they make it impossible. I thought they wanted to find homes for these pets. Still haven't heard from anyone. Dogs still in kennels. Bad news.

Adoption with no surprises! These wonderful people spent time getting to know the dog we adopted. They had clear information about her, her energy level, her skills, and areas she needed a little work. We have had her in our home for over 3 weeks now and she is adjusted and happy. Della is learning to herd balls to use her natural abilities and energy. She impresses us daily with her desire to teach us something she can do and loves to show off how smart she is.
