Bears Barn Holiday Cottage

We visited the Bears Barn in October, and what an incredible place it is! Nestled in the centre of the picturesque Hartington is this little piece of heaven; with its log-burning fire and cozy, warming atmosphere, it was truely the most blissful place for a break to the Peak District. We walked many of the local trails, bought an incredible amount of local cheese, but most of all, we enjoyed the peace and serenity that Paul and Linda, the owners, have worked so hard to provide. The Bears Barn itself is a lovely kept converted barn, perfect for a couples' escape in the country. An inviting and comfortable living room with fireplace, and beautiful bedroom ensured warmth and comfort during our trip, and the kitchen was perfect for those days we didn't fancy a meal out. Only a short drive to places like Buxton and Matlock, it made a perfect hub for exploring all the Peaks have to offer. The local ammenities, the pubs and shops in Hartington itself, are enough to keep you from straying, but if you decide to venture out, I would highly recommend a visit to Arbor Low, the Peak Districts' own stone henge. Our entire holiday was a splendor, filled with happy memories. We hope to visit the Barn again very soon! Thank you so much Linda and Paul!
