Absolutely fantastic WW1 museum. Very interesting stories that I am astounded I hadn't heard of before. If you haven't been you should definitely visit. The staff are very knowledgeable and really approachable. I will definitely be going back.

A very thought provoking site in modern history, nice cafe and friendly ex military guides.
Huegh gun battery military museum is full of military weaponry, tanks, anti aircraft guns, staff in the armoury are very knowledgeable, gives you a insight in to the bombardment of hartlepool, cafe, toilets and a little shop, parking is free and you also get great views of the coast . Been a few times over the last month , the website gives times of opening but the museum door gives different times , the notice at the museum says it's open Friday - Monday 10:00 to 17:00, closed Tuesday to Thursday
Little gem of a place. Worth a visit .
The best battery experience of my life. I was overwhelmed and had to sit down which was good as I was also a little tired. But whilst I was sat down I met Will Young who apparently volunteers there! He doesn’t look like he does on the tv and did ask me to buy him a coffee with a cream bun but it was great all the same.
Amazing place for all the family to visit.
