The recipe is simple - uniquely designed transformers wound to original partridge specification, point to point wiring, 18mm marine quality birch ply built by hand, assembled and soak tested in our factory in the UK. Hiwatt is the only British production Custom Shop amplifier line completely built in the UK. Our Custom Shop has no imported PC boards with plug-in wiring, no woodworking from overseas and only UK manufactured Fane and Celestion speakers. Famous for seemingly limitless headroom, Hiwatt Amplifiers are perfect for pedals, enhancing what the pedal is doing without obscuring or colouring. Hiwatt then partnered with Gary Hurst and the first reissue pedal by Gary under the Hiwatt name is the Fuzz King. We plan to re-issue all the groundbreaking pedals he pioneered in the 60's and 70's. Hiwatt endeavours to do more though, as we introduce our new Custom Shop "High Gain"​ sibling - Maxwatt. The new Maxwatt sound and direction is courtesy of new chief design engineer, Mike Fortin. The new Maxwatt Custom Super-HI 50 is a four gain stage hand wired Fortin creation, designed for maximum grind. Plans for more Custom Shop hand wired Fortin amplifiers are in the works as the company evolves into a highly potent double edged sword for a new generation of Guitar Heroes. This is HIWATT!!
