I ordered an outfit for a Gatsby party in Edinburgh and was super excited with finding CostumeHireDirect.. ordering was simple and quick... This unfortunately was before all the snow arrived last week and I ended up receiving the costume the following week, and too late for the party (admittedly, it couldn't be helped) ... Kate couldn't be more wonderful.. and offered to honour the original order when i required their services again. Thank you , thank you , thank you ... My outfit is now re-ordered for the next up-coming Gatsby. * 5 Star service *

These people happily took my credit card details and aside from an email telling me they will call to confirm... I haven't heard a squeak since. No costumes were delivered and the event was RUINED. I have emailed them and tried to call them on the shop number every day during business hours. They NEVER answer their phone and have failed to return all of my calls. I am appalled by the way these people operate and really wonder how they sleep at night. My advice: rent your costumes elsewhere. By the way, if you google 'Haslemere Wardrobe Reviews' you will find two reviews and they BOTH say that their costumes were not delivered.
Same experience here put my order online it was acknowledged wanted to collect it today cant get hold of anyone none has returned my message about me wanting to pay and collect such a shame as it used to be a great place to hire costumes wont be using them again.
Very unhappy with their service, When our uniforms arrived and were unpacked we were met with a strong musty and stale smell which would have been offensive to others if they had been worn. All jackets were too small, not even close to the sizes ordered. The hats were all too small and would not fit any adults that tried them and also the white rims were covered in black finger prints. When we tried to ring and sort the problem out know body answered the phone it has taken a week to actually speak to someone and when we did they were rude and unprofessional! Please steer clear of this company!! I would highly recommend Bath Theatrical Hire in Frome, Somerset.
So sad to see what was a great company descend into total chaos with the new online setup . The order system and login doesn't work properly, emails to the company bounce and the wrong costume was dispatched to the wrong address , then the right address with the wrong costume. After ten years of using the Haslemere wardrobe I wont be back .
