Very tasty and fresh fish. Hake portion was one of the largest I had so far at any chippy (and we are having one every time while going to the beach :-). At the price 6.20 this is a steal and I couldn't believe the portion size for the price charged with chips being too much for me. Well cooked chips. Side of mashy peas at 1 very big and tasty. Good luck to them !.

Heard great things about this place. Upon entering (the takeaway section) they were also very busy. I ordered 2 large cod, 1 large chips and a savaloy. The friendly staff served it up into a bag and I went home. Upon opening my greasy bag there was a minuscule portion of chips and a tiny cod. I was very disappointed. The only good thing was the savaloy. Decided to give a second chance and a few days later went again, but it was the same thing. Portions are small. (Photographed below is a medium sized chips and a cod)

The food was pretty good and the staff were helpful and friendly. However, the service was a little slow. We didn't have to wait a long time, but it seems like they are more focused on getting the takeaway orders done first before moving on to the people who are eating in. The restaurant also felt quite outdated and old. The signs outside the restaurant look old and it doesn't really feel like an exciting place to eat. There was no air conditioning and we were eating on one of the hottest days of the year, so it felt quite uncomfortable. There are many other fish & chip restaurants in Hastings. So, if you are looking for one, it's best to look for other restaurants, as this restaurant doesn't really feel like an exciting place to eat at all.

Great value for money, lovely service and very impressive Covid routines - table and chair cleaning, menu disinfection, social distancing... spot on, well done!

Batter on the fish is the lightest crispiest I have ever had thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff are really friendly.
