Lovingly put together pub, a tucked away gem. Really celebrates local, seasonal produce. We had whelks and Romney marsh lamb and it was all cooked to perfection. Get there early and put your name down for a table as they don’t take bookings for less than 8 people.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, and superb food. My husband booked and my expectations were low (30 years of experience) but loved the place, the fabulous jazz background music, the chilled out vibe, and some of the best food I've ever eaten, at a very reasonable price. Loved it, and would highly recommend it. Don't be put off by the small menu.... it's all exquisite

Good pub with menu. A pot of tea can be bought for just 1.50 If you don't fancy an alcoholic drink. No parking as its in the old town. Nearest car park is near the beach front.

This is a real, quirky gem in Hastings. The setting is extremely pleasant as the decor is very creative and imaginative. The food is excellent - the kind of menu I'd expect from a gastro pub. My only caveat is it can be a bit hot due to the use of fresh chilli's - I loved my aubergine concoction with harrissa but it did bring out a sweat. Even the cheese toastie with red onions was inspired and imaginative. My two friends loved their meals just as much but also found them on the hot side. I think it would be worth asking diners how hot they want their food to be, but no faulting the chef, this is first class pub food.

After a wonderful walk on the sea front, the friendly welcome at the Crown was terrific. High chair for my grandson who at 10 months, already enjoys the 'theatre' of eating out. I had a small platter - pea and courgette with basil (warm salad) which was delicious. We felt safe due to social distancing measures. (little one sampled a couple of chips) Do try the Crown.

Cosy space with really good ales. There are some really cool art pieces hung around the place that make the place stand out a little. And the food is of very high quality! I would recommend going here for lunch or for drinks on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the weather.

I haven't had pub food this good in awhile...it is outstanding. We had the mackerel crumpet, fish cake and tandoori chicken. Was fortunate they were able to accommodate a late booking for dinner on a bank holiday so very happy that this place turned out to be a gem. Service is also very good, staff are excellent communicators, as well as friendly and warm. Highly recommend.

Completely covid safe, we were well attended by staff and I could not fault the delishious menu. Some unusual dishes but it was nice not to be forced into eating fish as in most other eateries in the town. The atmosphere was vibrant but not too loud. I will definitely be coming back!
