Disappointed- extra slice of half stale bread for 3.50. Cold wedges for 350. Cleaning you’re already clean table while you sitting there. No one asks you how the food is and takes your plates before you have finished. This was much better before it became River cottage although I really admire what the River cottage brand is about, shame it doesn’t live up to this.

Well were to start!? Slow , poor service. Badly organized .no team leader. No speed or motivation. Lack of crockery .poor hygiene. Over priced. Drinks went cold by the time they got cakes organised. Cued for mins 25... Truly awful!
Was ok when it was open, alittle small and cramped but done the job
Lovely cake and coffee, in a pleasant surrounding. Tables sticky and dirty, with long delays before vacated tables cleared. It wasn't busy! We cleared our own table, and wiped the crumbs off, but it still looked pretty grim. We asked the person clearing the tables if they could wipe it down for us. It was clear by his look and zero verbal communication, that he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. He produced a dry cloth, which did nothing to clean the table. It's a real shame, but this place was simply not hygienic. Easy to fix with very basic staff training and a competent manager keeping an eye out.
Used the cafe while visiting the Frost fair and i have to say it was terrible. The service for food and drinks was slow, I ordered a hot chocolate with extra luxury orange etc what we got resembled dish water and tasted like it too. Asked for 2 bacon rolls only to be told that they had run out - you had only been open 90mins so who's the idiot that didn't order enough. So 2 hot drinks and 1 bacon baton and I was charged over 11 what a rip off. We will not be back in a hurry.
Very quaint. Good coffee
Pleasantly very nice, but food & drinks are slightly over priced.
