visited today and was blown away by the fantastic raised vegetable beds! not what you might expect to see in a care home but absolutely loved by the residents who work hard to maintain them, well done.

Having one of your loved ones move into a care home is one of the hardest decisions to make. being filled with anxiety on whether this is the right choice for your loved ones and in my case, my mother. What the Staff at Belmont exceeded at was putting my mind at rest and not only making my mum feel, safe, cared for and welcome in her new home. The Staff at Belmont go above and beyond their duties regarding the care of mum, they also make me and my family feel welcome when we visit always smiling and always up for a laugh which in my opinion is vital for the mental health of not only mum but for the family as a whole. All you want for your family is for them to feel safe, comfortable and happy and Belmont gives this always. Thank you.

Belmont Castle is the second care home that I have lived in, unfortunately my first experience of a care home was very distressing. I came to Belmont at a very low time in my life and they completely turned my life around and made me happier; made me feel wanted. The carers at Belmont really care, the accommodation is first class and the food is well balanced and well cooked and well presented. The management's aim is to make Belmont Castle Care Home an integral part of the community, they encourage family and friends to visit the home and take part in the many activities that they put on. They treat every resident with a great deal of respect and gives everybody all the care that they can, resulting in a very happy atmosphere and sense of well being, that you can feel as soon as you enter the building. Visitors are always greeted by a friendly member of staff and offered refreshments. If they ask to be directed, they are promptly shown around and questions answered to the best of their ability. This Easter Sunday (2019) the home held an Easter egg hunt for the children of resident's family's and the staff. About 40 youngsters, babies and up to 11 or 12 years old thoroughly enjoying the fun of the egg hunt, egg and spoon race and goodies that were provided for them by the home.

I attended one of their garden parties and it was so lovely! Staff are wonderful and all so helpful and it’s clear they all have the residents best interests at heart. It’s a great facility and the way their care for those with dementia is amazing- I haven’t seen another facility that has such an eye for detail!

Today we attended a Dementia Awareness talk hosted by the very passionate and knowlegable Juanita at Belmont Castle where my nan now lives. There is so much to learn about Dementia and Juanita has helped enormously today with some additional learning. Understanding why our loved ones are feeling or saying certain things undoubtedly helps us make the path as smooth as possible for them as they enter this stage of their life. We both got a great deal out of today and would like to say a massive thanks to all the staff at Belmont who look after my nan and keep her safe on a daily basis. I urge anyone who feels they would benefit from knowing more about Dementia to attend the next session.

It is a real pleasure and honour to manage this home. The team are just wonderful, compassionate people and it is a privilege to know and care for all our VIPS and their loved ones. Everybody is treated with dignity and respect and we celebrate and embrace family values. We are the carehome with a difference. I love the fact that every day is different and we have the opportunity to create special moments which will turn into treasured memories.

I cannot praise Belmont Castle Care home highly enough, from the Staff to the Food and the quality of Care given, Belmont Castle is second to none in its approach to dementia care, and how it is involving its self with the local community by way of voluntary work at the local QA hospital to visiting local Schools to explain why Dementia suffers have so much to give and need to be embraced as the loved ones they are! They have also given us our lives back, as we know that Mum is in a safe caring environment, and we have no reason to worry anymore. Thank you Beverlee and Neil.
