This college is in decline over the last 10 years, my cousin has just enrolled into this pathetic place of (what you call) higher education. This was made evident to him by the clear lack of support during remote learning and that certain subjects are making of a show of google meets. What really aggravated me and others within this group I have discussed this matter with, is that chemistry (a subject that is facilitating) has made shows of google meets that teachers are only on for 5 minutes out of the required 90 minutes. Many parents and students are scared of writing or even expressing their opinions to higher departments, in the sense that they would face discrimination from teachers and staff. Would not recommend this college to any students in the future, because my family have made this mistake and they deeply regret this.

This college’s reputation have clearly undermined my expectations of a good college. Partly due to the fact that my step son was not being taught well enough by your so called “highly qualified” teachers. This college is an absolute mockery to the name of higher education and the next step towards a successful career. During the online learning sessions my step son is finding it increasingly frustrating when the teachers are just giving him ‘hard to follow’ videos which are misleading and misinforming on the specification of the subject. Furthermore, the teachers are expecting the students to achieve higher marks on exams. This is a clear misconduct as the students are forced to do well and study the content on their own, which really begs the question “are the teachers really teachers?”.

This College is an absolute tragedy. Chemistry is an absolute shambles. My grandnephew has been doing lesson from home and has done no actual face to face work with the teachers. I hope this changes. Teachers are leaving after 5 mins of video call. However some departments are excellent such as the maths, physics and English. I am doing this on behalf of my grandnephews parents as they are concerned that their sons grades maybe dropped by teachers if they review. This college is an absolute joke. There needs to be fundamental changes.

At this point I'm giving up on this college being better and adjusting to lockdown teaching. Since the first lockdown and now my niece hasn't seen improvement in the quality of teaching. In the first lockdown there was no live lessons at all and this lockdown there's been no improvement at all. Their simply isn't the will to teach from teachers as they're content to receive pay and let the year go without being taught all the content properly live. Chemistry just won't teach her properly on these google meets the college is telling the teachers to do. Some teachers refuse to stream lessons from HSDC and others have the guts to only be on meetings for maybe 10 mins at the start or 5 mins on the end of lessons and just tell kids to watch youtube videos or wander around filling docs which I hear don't always have needed tasks or info on them. The 5 star reviews are from mainly workers from what I hear which makes sense since students don't look like they like what's going on. Please make a change for the good of not only my niece but the parent's that are too scared to call out college in case another system is made based on teacher grades.
