A fantastic day out, so much to see and do for kids young and old. Our visit there started at 1pm and the return back to our car was when the gates were closing, a brilliant time, our 5 or old grandson was in his element. The secret Owl garden was amazing, they where demonstrating one Owl at the feeding station, where he would fly from station to station passing close over our heads, for someone like me who loves taking pictures this was brilliant. Then with my grandson leading the way, it was up into the wooden boardwalk, it took us right through the jungle and Bach around to the tree houses, my grandson loved it so much we did the boardwalk 3 times. Time for tea, there's a lovely cafe serving all kinds of delicacies. Then onto the walled garden, a beautiful quiet place, full of beautiful plants, I took over 250 photographs in toll. What a fantastic day out.

Only visited the gardens as the castle was shut but well worth a visit. You can easily spend 4-5 hours just wandering around the gardens & wooded areas. An absolute must for lovers of nature. Some wonderful specimens of plants & trees. The kids aren't forgotten either with a boardwalk through a marshy area (one for kids of all ages!) play areas and the Welsh Owl Garden, with all sorts of birds and a few other creatures. Maria's cafe is great for lunch, or just a coffee and a piece of cake or ice cream. Space inside is limited but there are picnic benches in the courtyard and lots of benches throughout the gardens for an impromptu picnic. Highly recommended.
The owl garden was just amazing. Picton is a beautiful place very close to my heart! Highly recommend a day out to see the owls and other few reptiles and Speedy the skunk! For a beautiful walk around the gorgeous gardens and for the best food at Maria's cafe, a Spanish style cafe run by Maria in the courtyard of the castle. Love it!
Visited just before the latest set of Welsh lockdown restrictions. Beautiful, cold, sunny afternoon. The gardens were very much in winter mode, having been prepared for cold weather. Castle tours were in operation again, so check the website when the new restrictions are lifted. The cafe is excellent, being run by the same people as Ultracomida in Narberth. The local artist exhibitions are also worth visiting. This is a place that changes dramatically over the season so is worth visiting at different times of the year.
Just had a great time at Picton Castle. Had a tour of the gardens with our lovely guide Rhiannon. She was very informative. Had delicious coffee and cake in cafe. All the staff were very friendly. Hope to return again soon. Thank you! Guy & Linda Russell
